The Municipal Commission on Arts and Letters of University City is a citizen board that espouses a mission to advise University City on questions of art and culture, promote artistic and cultural events and broaden the artistic awareness of University City residents. The commission sponsors annual events that include a Sculpture Series that features public art created by Washington University sculpture students, a Photo Show that features photography from local amateur photographers and a Returning Artist Series that features University City High School graduates who are professional artists. The artists conduct classroom lectures and demonstrations.
